We’re delighted to announce that Branching Out Tree and Garden Services has officially achieved ARB Approved Contractor status.
Awarded by the Arboricultural Association, this prestigious national accreditation is one of the highest recognitions in our industry, and showcases our commitment to professionalism, safety and the very best in tree care. We have spent months working towards accreditation, so we were delighted when we received the good news.
What is the Arborcultural Association?
The association is the leading voice on all arboriculture matters in the UK. Its main role is to be the membership body for all those employed within the sector, undertaking important work around standards, training, support and recognition.
The overarching aim of the association is to champion the sustainable management of trees in places where people live work and play – for the benefit of our society.
What is the ARB Approved Contractor scheme?
The Arboricultural Association’s ARB Approved Contractor scheme is the UK’s only comprehensive accreditation for tree surgery businesses. Established nearly 40 years ago, it sets the standard for tree work, as the industry is not regulated by the government.
In 2012, the scheme achieved ISO 9001 (UKAS) accreditation in recognition of its quality management systems. It is also a registered member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) forum, the UK-wide organisation that recognises health and safety schemes.
As the national standard for arboricultural contracting businesses, the ARB Approved Contractor scheme is now a common requirement in contracts with local authorities and large organisations. In the domestic sector, being an ARB Approved Contractor is regarded as a sign of a high standard of tree care and health and safety.
To qualify, tree surgery businesses must be independently assessed and approved to check they meet certain requirements covering:
- Health and safety compliance
- Professional tree care and arboricultural practices
- Environmental responsibility
- Customer service and business management.
