What is grounds maintenance?

The term grounds maintenance covers a range of activities which are needed to keep outdoor areas safe, clean and tidy. Typical jobs include tree pruning, maintaining flower borders and mowing lawns.

The main aim of carrying out grounds maintenance is to improve the visual appearance of the property.

Owners of commercial and residential properties, and their facilities managers, value grounds maintenance as it can have a positive effect on tenant satisfaction. This means more residents will be attracted to the site, while company employees will feel safe and happy.

Having an effective grounds maintenance plan is also essential to preserving, and possibly increasing, the value of the property. Not having a plan would make it extremely difficult to keep a site looking its best from January to December.

Types of grounds maintenance

We will conduct a comprehensive survey of your site so that we can create an appropriate plan of action. Here are the most common types of grounds maintenance:

  • Corrective maintenance: this strategy is adopted when we determine that immediate action is required to address areas which are unable to be used. The aim is to return the site to full operational capacity.
  • Preventive maintenance: sustainable grounds maintenance is about planning routine work that prevents problems developing in the future. The aim is to preserve peak working conditions while avoiding unscheduled repairs thus lowering costs.

Branching Out gave me first class service from start to finish, from speaking to Kerrie who was lovely when taking the enquiry, to the nice gentleman who came to do an estimate, very professional and understanding with good advice. The lads that done the work, arrived on time, done just what I asked for, a first class job, were very respectful of property and tidying up, couldn't be more pleased, Would highly recommend. Thank you very much to all concerned.

Excellent job of 'taming' 4 large trees over 2 days. The work was carried out on the days previously agreed, to time and price with the work place cleaned up so well you would never have known they had been there. Well done guys.

The guys at Branching Out spent the day in my Mum's garden carrying out some garden clearance and also tree cutting / trimming / shaping and they've done a fantastic job. They did everything my Mum had asked for and were really friendly and accommodating when she wanted a few additional bits dealing with. On the day they were with us, it was a very rainy day, but that didn't bother them in the slightest. Branching Out did a fabulous job for my Mum and I would highly recommend them. Both myself and Mum will definitely be using them again in the future.
